Gray's close friends encouraged her to get started on her journey to social media, and she ended up having better success than her friends. Her mother downloaded the app for the sole purpose of watching her. Loren's success in musical.ly was able to spread across social media. The YouTube videos she made were posted on YouTube by random people who were reacted by them. Gray was amazed by the attention she received however, she and her family weren't as thrilled. Some members of her circle turned against Gray instead of supporting her. The friends of Loren began calling her names and deleting their own accounts.
